Essential Components For Solar Power System Installation
Installing a solar power system requires careful consideration of essential components to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Key components of solar system include a Mounting System, these can either be integrated as in the adjacent image or surface mounted as in the image below, PV Modules (panels), an Inverter for converting DC to AC electricity and an Energy Meter for monitoring generation. The addition of Battery Storage can transform the system and maximise self consumption.
Steps In The Solar Installation Process
The solar installation process involves several crucial steps to ensure a successful and efficient setup. First, the location is assessed for compatibility and sunlight exposure based on the orientation, pitch and shading factors. The size of the solar system can then be determined based on these factors along with the clients energy requirements and budget. Once the system is designed, depending on the size of the system, the DNO can either be notified within 28 days of commissioning if less than 3.68kW (G98) or an application would need to be submitted if greater than 3.68kW (G99). Once the necessary applications are complete, installation can commence. First the mounting system is installed, followed by the PV panel mounting and DC wiring. Following the installation of the DC, the AC wiring can then be completed along with the installation of the solar inverter which converts the DC electricity to usable AC power. The system is then tested, commissioned, certified and the client will be issued with a handover pack. This comprehensive process ensures a reliable solar energy system that maximises efficiency and benefits.
